Technically custom css in wordpress works without needing to add !important.

You need to use !important in css attributes 

anyway, css will just scale image but will not change size. Your images will be blurry 

I am using the child theme and have added custom css via theme options>general to resize the image on single product page. 

Seems that the custom css is getting pulled up correctly when inspecting the element, however it is disabled. Please see screenshot. 

Wondering if there is anything else that i need to do. 

You can't increase it without customization, but you can choose other
product layouts or make customization of file
inc/product_layout/woo_directory.php As it's customization of core
templates, it falls outside support scope, so, you need to do this by
yourself or hire customization team

i am using the Directory Style product layout. 

How can i increase the size of the image displayed on the product page. Please see attached file.
