Seeing ticket #33367 about adding social icons, I totally get that frustration when theme options seem to hide-like trying to find the right tower defense upgrade path in a busy level! 

You can copy your existing site. We will also add the same code to core in
next update of theme. I guess it will be in a week

It’s not your mistake. It’s well known bug of bitnami hostings which set wrong Wp-content path to constants

In customizer, they have another place. Use regular theme options in your admin panel
