As I wrote, each size is used in different places and depending on layout which you enabled in theme options

WC - Then just have one basic original image size for everything and no need to have multiple sizes in the uploads?

It depends on product layout which you use on site. Usually smaller image
has bad quality and cropped. Theme uses own lazy load so size doesn’t
affect speed

Hello,

why is it that when wp and wc upload x sizes, the preview image for wc is taken from the base, large size and not from the smaller sizes?

How does one go about making a different image size as the source when wp, wc generate x of them?
