you don't need to attach class for subitems, only for parent item. Just do exactly the same steps as shown in video in tutorial

I am losing myself with CSS for vertical mega menu.

But still I am lost. 

Do you have maybe a detailed version of each CSS class used to create mega menu from your help page exemple.
